WindPath Sailing, Inc. Introduces Fractional Use Sailing to Rhode Island
NEWPORT, RI – WindPath Sailing brings fractional use yachting to Newport, RI. WindPath Sailing of Rhode Island, provides a new and unique opportunity to enjoy a brand new Catalina sailboat through a shared membership program – without the commitments and financial obligations normally associated with yacht ownership.
“WindPath’s program opens the door for people who have want to get out on the water, but hesitate because of financial or other burdens associated with owning a sailing yacht,” said Ian Treibick, president and founder of WindPath Sailing, Inc.,”Our first Rhode Island location represents a major step forward for WindPath as a national sailing presence.”
Paul Butler, WindPath Sailing of RI base owner explained, “Owning a sailboat requires significant time and financial resources that many would be sailors are not able or willing to make. WindPath removes all of the usual burdens associated with yacht ownership, such as maintenance, repairs and cleaning, and allows members to enjoy their time on the water with friends and family. Whether this is for a sunset sail or an overnight trip we offer a true step on, step off experience”
“Many of WindPath’s members can afford their own boat, but they’ve chosen to allow us to deal with all the issues associated with ownership so they can enjoy hassle free and affordable luxury sailing.” Butler added.
WindPath’s innovative program enables members to sail or relax on a brand new Catalina yacht a minimum of seven times per month. Members may choose a monthly or annual fee that is usually less than the cost of the marina slip fees alone. WindPath handles all aspects of maintenance, insurance, scheduling and refueling, as well as offering a comprehensive training program for new or inexperienced sailors.
Members schedule time slots via WindPath’s unique, real-time online scheduler. They can reserve time slots instantly and book future trips up to 12 months in advance, with unlimited use of unreserved timeslots.
All of WindPath’s Catalinas are fully loaded with the options buyers and members desire the most. Some features on a typical yacht include an in-mast furling system, electric anchor windlass, wheel steering with auto pilot, GPS chart plotter, separate shower stall, microwave, flat screen television with DVD player and high quality CD player.
WindPath of RI’s fleet is based on the Catalina line of 30-50 foot yachts. The first yacht, a 2008 Catalina 350, will be christened “Logged Off” and available from May, 2008. It will be berthed at the Goat Island Marina, right in the heart of Newport harbor and with easy access to Buzzards Bay, Block Island Sound, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Plans are in the works to introduce WindPath to other Rhode Island locations as well as around the US.
